Unfortunately, termites problems aren’t always easy to identify. They could be terrorizing your home without your knowledge.
Termites typically are found in hidden areas of your home like behind wall coverings, under foundations, and in crawl spaces making detecting them very difficult.
However, a termite infestation will begin to become apparent if you experience some of these common signs of Termite Damage:
-Sounds in your walls: Worker termites can be noisy as they work hard to eat away at your foundation. You may start to hear clicking sounds coming from the walls. Soldier termites will bang their heads against the wood or shake their body to alert the colony of impending danger.
-Flying termites: Flying termites, also called swarmers, can be found swarming around your home if an infestation is present. Flying termites are the ones that have left the nest in search of a mate. Once they find a mate, they set off to establish their own colony.
-Tunnels in wood: Termite tunnels are difficult to see from the outside, but you may be able to see them inside a piece of broken wood in or near your home. This is a sure sign that termites have set up shop.
-Hollow or papery wood: Termites usually consume wood from the inside out which leaves a thin veneer of wood, or even just the paint. If you were to knock or tap on an area that has Termite Damage, it will sound thin or hollow.
